Lise’s Wedding at Wedgewood Pines Country Club in Stow, MA

I immediately knew I just had to work with Lise when I found out she was getting married in my hometown of Stow, MA. Not normally a makeup wearer, she requested soft, natural makeup for her wedding, while her maid of honor went Red Carpet all the way!

Soft, natural makeup – but with a subtle flash of smoke & shimmer when she blinked!

The groomsmen wore the same socks, too – love it!

The maid of honor requested a bold-but-wearable lip; love it!

Doing her touch-up duty for the bride (atta girl!)

Peace + Love!

Love how the cake detail matches the bride’s shoes!

Styled Shoot at the Springfield Marriott Featured in Smitten Magazine

I am so proud of this team effort, now published for the second time! Last August, I teamed up with a fantastic group of wedding pros and two professional models (nope, they’re not a couple, but they fake it pretty well, amirite?) to create a wedding vision inspired by a specific tradition: the tasting of the four elements (bitter, sour, hot, and sweet), symbolizing the aspects of marriage – and life – that any couple will endure. Plus we had access to the gorgeous Marriott rooftop (on an exceptionally windy day, which made prop positioning difficult!) We finished the shoot at sunset on the Memorial Bridge.

I was on board to do makeup for both the “bride” and “groom” – here’s an iPhone before & after to show the dramatic change made by airbrush makeup, smoky earthtone metallic eyes, false lash clusters, and berry lips:

Our team was honored when Smitten Magazine agreed to publish the shoot – click here to see their photo selection. Here are my personal favorite portraits from the day:

Kajal’s Sangeet at Coco Keys in Waterbury CT

This was a quick and last-minute job sent to me by the amazingly talented makeup artist, Shreni Patel (who I have teamed up with before) – she had a busy weekend and her bride Kajal decided to get makeup done for her Sangeet the night before the wedding ceremony. Shreni wasn’t available, so she sent me in her place. After enduring outrageous traffic to Waterbury (that made everyone else, including half of the wedding party and the groom, quite late), I did makeup for bride Kajal, her mom, and her sister. It was fun to incorporate some brighter colors into the looks!

Kayte’s Chanel-inspired wedding at Elm Court in the Berkshires

Like many of my recent ones, this beautiful wedding at a Vanderbilt estate in Lenox, MA was heavily rained upon (forcing the ceremony indoors), but you’d never know it from all the smiles! Kayte and her family and friends were too busy soaking up the joy of the day to worry about the weather, and they were a delight to work with. It was a big group so friend & fellow artist Shreni Patel accompanied me to the Berkshires to get everyone prepped.

Kayte works for Chanel (check out those fabulous shoes!) so I incorporated the brand’s eyeshadow and lipstick into her final look, along with lots of lashes and glowing airbrushed skin. Her dress was a dream and the flowers absolutely took my breath away.

Heather’s June Wedding at the Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA

Heather is a high school math teacher who was easily one of my most laid-back, easygoing clients of all time. Not a regular makeup wearer, she wanted to look good for photos but keep things very natural looking and not “makeuppy.” A touch of smoky eyeliner, mascara, and soft rosy lips & cheeks were all that was needed in terms of color; the rest was just subtle skin work that would be virtually undetectable to the naked eye.

Here is a before & after from our trial session where you can see the VERY subtle, but effective, difference the airbrush makeup made to her already beautiful face:

(I love sharing photos like this because so many of my brides are afraid of looking made up, and if you don’t want to, you don’t have to! It’s all about invoking the style that you’re comfortable with so that you feel like yourself on your big day, but are still camera-ready.)

Here are some wedding day photos that Heather was kind enough to share (I love the classic beauty of her dress combined with the pop of color of her shoes!)

Jackie’s Wedding at Santarella in the Berkshires

This wedding took place at a gingerbread-style house in Tyringham MA that is straight out of a Disney fairy tale. Because she is an out-of-stater, Jackie and I never had a trial – she hired me based purely on the strength of my portfolio and reviews (very flattering!) She wanted to go for a slightly scaled-down version of the Kim Kardashian eye: smoky earthtones to match her outgoing personality (and quirky venue).

I loved all the details in her day so I couldn’t resist including some of them – check out the painting station, the French Bulldog (squee!), and a bridesmaid demonstrating the proper “corner of the tissue” method for blotting away tears during the ceremony. Here are my favorites:

Jessica’s Wedding at the Springfield Marriott

You might remember Jessica as the client shown in my Gazette newspaper feature (the photographer was scheduled during our trial session, which Jessica was kind enough to approve). Subtly smoky eyes and blushy cheeks were the order of the day. I had a wonderful time working with this gorgeous bride, her mother, and her sister!

Cynthia’s Christmas Wedding in Holyoke, MA

Cynthia’s wedding was the last one I did in 2012 – and it took place just two days before Christmas in the living room of her beautiful Holyoke home. I love intimate weddings like this one, and the love they share was captured beautifully.

I did makeup for the bride and her daughter – I loved their elegant sapphire and fuchsia gowns! And how adorable are the family dogs?!?
